MANILA, Philippines — The reported death toll from Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) has jumped to 152, while 86 individuals remain missing and 96 others injured, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its 6 a.m. situation report on Friday.
The NDRRMC said the reported deaths are still subject to validation and could still change.
Before exiting the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday, Tino made landfall eight times and left a trail of destruction in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao. /gsg
